Fox News has worked itself into a tizzy over no-cost birth control. It seems like every night, a Fox News commentator is saying something egregious about women and birth control.
One commentator even said that covering birth control was like paying for manicures and pedicures!
Fox News’ coverage is not only demeaning and insulting to women… it’s also bad journalism. NARAL Pro-Choice America has just launched a campaign to get them to clean up their act. Can you join me in sending a letter?
The acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is leaving his post after being linked to a controversial gun-smuggling operation along the Southwest border now under federal investigation.
Kenneth Melson, the former acting director is stepping down to become a senior adviser in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Policy, the agency announced Tuesday. Melson will be replaced by Minnesota’s U.S. Attorney B. Todd Jones. Dennis Burke, the U.S. attorney for the district of Arizona who is also connected to the operation, also announced his resignation.
Both Melson and Burke were closely involved with “Operation Fast and Furious,” in which the ATF allowed guns to be illegally smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border. The operation was designed to crack down on gun sales to armed drug cartels.
